Why does Her Voice Make My Skin Crawl?

I only get this every now and then , but a girl will be in my life whos voice just makes me itch and cringe. It doesnt usally come straight away but after a few months somthing will change and each sentence makes my back arch up like a pissed off cat. Its an uncomfortable feeling when someones every word makes you feel anoyed.

There used to be this girl i lived with and it wasnt her voice all the time just her shreeking laugh and the phrase “Oh My GOD!!!” all the time that used to just make me feel ill. Its hard to explain but just some people they just make you cringe with pain. You could hear her scream “Oh MY GOD” from all over the house. And it was usally followed by somthing completly pointless. “OH MY GOD” i went on ebay . Wow well done , did you have to scream at me about that! Fuckin hell… I moved house and was in the bathroom and all of a sudden i herd it and The cackle Laugh over and over, raised above all the other noises of a neighbors BBQ i poked my head out the window .”OH MY GOD” it was her.

I think it comes after you start to get to know them and these phrases or tones of voice you know are just false. You know that they are covering up somthing and this tone of voice just sounds fake, false and a huge over exageration.

Im not one to pick people apart and i usally give every one their own right to be themself. But i cant hide the fact i get chills running through my spine if i hear their voice.  Its funny i have no reason , i dont even spend much time thinking about it then one day it starts to happen and from that point my relationship with that person usally takes a dive.

I am right now sitting with headphones on LOL with some chill out just to block the noise and tune in to somthing more creative and uplifting in order to write. This trick does seem to work well, it really zones you out of all the noise and bullshit, you got to choose your tunes carfully for this.

What is that feeling anyway, usually you get a feeling to warn you or give you a hint of some further action, but just feeling sick and twisted at someones anoying voice whats that all about. There isnt any call for action with this feeling other than to just put on the music or dump them.

I get that skin crawling feeling when fat people give me advice on diet, and people who are in seriouse debt give me money advice. Just the words are fine but somthing about the tone and the pitch that really gives me the creeps.

You can also get this feeling from looks as well come to think of it.

  • This made me laugh. The funniest experience of an odd, make my skin crawl voice didn’t have to do with intimate proximity of anyone and it didn’t creep up over a period of time….but I was in New York visiting my boyfriend at the times family. In walks his brother’s girlfriend. To this day, one of the most BEAUTIFUL women I have ever seen both in real life or in magazines, film, etc. A true goddess of a girl. I was bowled over! And then she opened her mouth. Imagine Fran Drescher (sp?) times a trillion. Jersey accent that you would hear on Saturday Night live. I kid you not. The beauty was suddenly veiled by every cell in my body wanting to scream. We spent the weekend hanging out with them. She was very smart and kind….relaxing around that voice, not ridiculing her, and really listening to what she was saying was a challenge I will always remember! ha!
